Several crews of firefighters attended a fire in a block of flats in Sterte Close just after 12.30am on Thursday morning.
The aerial ladder platform and crews from Poole, Redhill, Hamworthy, Westbourne and Wimborne attended the small fire in the refuse shoot on the fourth floor of the property.
A fire service spokesperson explained that a large number of crews were called out due to the nature of the building being a high rise property containing a large number of people.
The flames were extinguished using an aquapack and buckets of water. The fire was out by 12.55am.
