ONE of the largest vessels ever to enter Poole Harbour will be returning to the town today.
Brittany Ferries cruise ferry the Armorique has taken over the cross Channel service from the Barfleur, which is heading off for her winter refit in Cherbourg.
The Armorique, which cost more than £100 million to build, will be covering the Poole/Cherbourg route from now until Monday, November 28.
She was due to arrive into Poole at 7am this morning, before departing for Cherbourg at 8.30am.
The vessel will follow the same routine Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week.
The Armorique briefly covered the route back in 2010, and at 29,500 tonnes she’s still the largest ferry ever to berth in Poole.
