A FEMALE pedestrian has been taken to hospital after she was involved in a crash with a car in Ashley Road.
Police and ambulance were called to the scene just before 3.20pm.
Ashley Road was shut both ways at the junction of Salisbury Road, but re-opened at around 5pm.
Police say the pedestrian has been taken to hospital for a check-up, and she is not thought to be in a life-threatening condition.
A black Volkswagen Golf was also involved in the crash, which happened near to St John's Heatherlands Parish Church.
Nobody else is believed to have been injured.
A diversion was in place at Waitrose, Mansfield Road, and Victoria Road, a spokesperson for Dorset Police confirmed.
