A VANDALISED memorial garden in Poole Park will be repaired thanks to the generosity of a local legal firm.

The Sunflower Garden, unveiled earlier this month and aimed at raising awareness for the 1,000 cancer patients cared for by Forest Holme Hospice each year, was vandalised days after opening.

A number of the garden’s ceramic, handmade sunflowers were vandalised, resulting in a £300 repair bill.

Now, Harold G Walker Solicitors, Wimborne, have paid to cover the cost of these repairs.

Managing partner Nicole Lowe said: “We were saddened to learn of the heartless act of vandalism to the Sunflower Garden and only too happy to help support the fundraising project in repairing the damage.”

Meanwhile, Forest Holme’s Becky Chalk said: “This was a terrible incident which is not only upsetting for those who have dedicated a flower to a loved one, but also those who have worked tirelessly to help create the garden.”
