THE NPAS police helicopter was called to help search for the driver of a car who failed to stop for police.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police confirmed that a red Vauxhall Vectra failed to stop for officers in Hamworthy just before 10pm last night.
Police officers followed the vehicle before finding that it had been left in a field off Herbert Avenue.
A search of the area was carried out by officers, assisted by the NPAS police helicopter, but nobody was found.
No arrests have been made. The spokesperson added that enquiries are continuing.
