BRAZEN thieves have stolen motorcycles belonging to speedway riders from the home of Poole Pirates boss Neil Middleditch.

On Monday morning brothers Brady and Todd Kurtz took their Honda CRF 50 trail bikes for a spin on the track at Mr Middleditch’s house in Poole Road, Sturminster Marshall.

However, after leaving the bikes by his garage while they enjoyed a spot of lunch just yards away, they returned to find the bikes had been taken.

“The boys had parked them just outside the garage, they were only there about 20 minutes,” said Mr Middleditch.

“The bikes were only sat about 30 metres away from us and we didn’t hear a thing.

“It was a brazen theft. They would have had to come right up the driveway and looked around, the bikes were behind Brady’s van.

“They are quite unique bikes, hopefully someone will come across them and we can get them back.”

The bikes, taken at around 1pm, have many customised parts as well as branding stickers and the Pirates boss says he hopes this will lead to their being easily recognisable should someone attempt to re-sell them.

They have offered a reward for their return.

“They were pretty hidden away,” said Brady, 19.

“You would have to be pretty much in the back yard to even see them.

“Todd has had his for about three years and I only got mine about two months ago.

“It is my favourite bike, I ride it almost every day.”

Both the Kurtz brothers live with Mr Middleditch and his wife Suzi.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said they were alerted to a report of a theft at around 3pm on Monday. Contact the force on 101 with information quoting reference 15:270, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
