GET ready for big band jazz and swing as Summer Breeze comes to Poole Quay on Thursday from 7pm.

Sponsored by Breeze Volkswagen, this week’s line up features swing, Latin, funk and rock from 20:1 Big Band, female saxophone duo Saxuality, plus acoustic guitar and vocals from the Jon Cotton Band at the Custom House.

There’s also the chance to go nutty with legendary nine piece Ska band Rat Race courtesy of Mr Kyps.

As part of Wave 105’s Summertime in the South, the free event takes place every Thursday evening in August, bringing a party atmosphere to Poole’s continental quayside before finishing with a firework finale at 10pm over the largest natural harbour in Europe.

Graham Richardson, Poole Tourism Manager, said: “Summer Breeze is the centrepiece of our packed Wave 105 Summertime in the South which will see over 60 special events in Poole this summer as part of a fantastic partnership that puts on some of the best weekly free summer events from April to September. Each week sees a new line up of musicians and entertainers and thousands of people come down to have a great night out with the family. So don’t miss out, make the most of summer in Poole.”

Prepare for the evening to go with a bang as Poole Field Gun display team will be demonstrating the splitting down and firing of their field gun. As the skies begin to darken, fire performers and daring comedy balancing acts will keep the crowds entertained.

During the event Poole Museum is open to the public until 9.30pm. The event concludes with a firework finale over Poole Harbour at 10pm.
