Poole RNLI lifeboat volunteers have launched 17 times over the past five days.

The latest incident yesterday afternoon saw the crew tasked by Solent Coastguard to a report of a capsized jet ski off Branksome, around 2.30pm.

The jet ski with two people on-board had capsized off the beach and their Jet Ski had filled up with water.

The passing ice cream boat had taken the people on board and landed them safely on the beach, where RNLI lifeguards were on scene.

The lifeboat crew arrived at 14:45pm and checked the pair were okay, before attaching a tow line onto the jet ski and bringing it to shore where it was recovered.

Both lifeboats were launched again just after 6.30pm to a report of a missing person, who was found shortly afterwards.

Volunteer coxswain, Jonathan Clark said: "With the fine weather, It certainly has been a busy time for the crew and the callouts have been varied, you never know what it will be next.

"We ask people to respect the water, we want people to enjoy themselves but to recognise the dangers and never underestimate its power."
