Poole Parkrun won't be going ahead this Saturday - but you don't have to miss out on your usual weekend run.

Runners are being urged to try out one of the other parkrun events across Dorset.

This week's event has been cancelled due to the first ever Race For Life Pretty Muddy 5k taking place in Poole Park on Saturday.

Posting on their Facebook page, organisers said: "It's time to try out those other local parkrun's you've never got around to. Bournemouth, Blandford and Moors Valley are all just up the road.

"It's business as usual at Poole on the 25th June."

The popular event sees scores of running enthuisasts come together every Saturday in Poole Park.

The free weekly event is non-competitive with runners aiming to record their personal best.

New runners are asked to register before they take part for the first time with runners asked to take along a barcode so their times can be recorded.

The following parkruns will be taking place on Saturday at 9am:

  • Bournemouth parkrun, Kings Park Athletic Stadium
  • Blandford parkrun, Jubilee Way, Blandford, DT11 7DD
  • Moors Valley parkrun, Moors Valley Country Park, BH24 2ET

There's even parkrun for youngsters. The junior Poole parkrun is for children aged four to 14-years-old and is held every Sunday at 9am in Poole Park.
