SEVEN people have been released on police bail in connection with a serious assault in Poole.

A local man in his twenties was stabbed in the neck and stomach during a late night attack at Parkstone Heights, which happened just before midnight on Sunday, February 28.

He managed to stagger more than 150 feet to a house, where he banged on the door and pleaded for help before collapsing on the driveway.

He was taken to hospital, but his condition was not life-threatening.

Police arrested ten people in connection with the incident but seven have now been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

But two men and a woman remain in police custody assisting officers with their enquiries.

The two men, aged 33 and 37 and both from Poole, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit burglary.

The 27-year-old woman from Poole was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Those released on police bail are:

A 26-year-old man from no fixed abode arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, possessing a firearm without certificate, grievous bodily harm, false imprisonment and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

A 23-year-old man from Poole, 26-year-old man from Poole, 28-year-old man from Liverpool and 31-year-old man from Colchester have all been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm without certificate.

A 33-year-old man from Poole has been arrested on suspicion of driving while disqualified, possession of cannabis and possession of firearm without certificate.

A 33-year-old man from Poole has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to destroy or damage property and conspiracy to commit burglary.
