LUXURY boat builder Sunseeker says it has reached a milestone after the second example of its 155 Yacht emerged from the factory.

The first yacht of its type was handed over to Formula One mogul Eddie Jordan in 2014 for a reported £32million.

Work on the second 155 began the same year and Sunseeker has revealed that it will be named by its owner the Princess AVK.

The new yacht has been visible by the public since it left its build shed earlier this week.

Phil Popham, CEO at Sunseeker International, said: “We are delighted to have reached this milestone with the second 155 Yacht, our flagship model in our range. It marks an exciting new phase in its completion and we look forward to its official launch later this year."

The identity of the owner has not been revealed.

Sunseeker says the interior is “classically elegant throughout” with “large expanses of living and entertainment spaces”.

It has six cabins for up to 12 guests to stay in luxury.

The forward lower deck area can accommodate up to 10 crew, with a separate captain’s cabin adjacent to the wheelhouse.

The upper saloon features a full-length stone finished bar and a secondary dining area which Sunseeker says offers a less formal dining experience than the principal one on the main deck. A port-side balcony offers uninterrupted views from the lower saloon.

Sunseeker says it has taken personal customisation one step further with the 155 Yacht, with owners able to influence not only the interior design and layout but also the superstructure of the yacht during the two-year build.

The new yacht will be powered by impressive twin 16V 4000 series MTU M93 engines delivering an increased top speed of up to 24 knots.

Earlier this month, Sunseeker announced that it would be hiring 225 skilled staff this year instead of the expected 100 at its Poole and Portland manufacturing bases.

It revealed last year that it made a loss of £41m but expects to return to profit in 2016.

The Beijing-headquartered Wanda Group acquired a majority stake in the business in 2013 and appointed Phil Popham chief executive a year ago.
