A VAN driver has lost £40,000 worth of medical supplies following a collision in Poole.
Police were called to the scene at 9.03am at the junction of Sandbanks Road and Glenair Avenue involving a cement mixer, van, car and truck.
No injuries were reported.
The van driver, who gave his name as Steve, was making medical deliveries in his van, registered to a company in Berkshire, and said he was stationary behind a red Skoda Fabia waiting for the traffic to move.
It was then he felt a shunt from behind.
He says he went into the back of the Skoda, registered to a Blandford woman, as a result of the collision with the cement mixer, which is registered with a Wareham company.
"It did a fair bit of damage," he said. "And there's a fair bit to the car as well."
He said he was carrying around £40,000 of medicine in his van which will now have to be written off due to the extent of the damage.
The back of the van was crumpled and his dashboard had come away making it "undriveable", he added.
Another vehicle, a tipper truck registered to a company in Andover, was also involved but the extent of the damage is unknown.
