THE A350 in Poole has reopened after a two-car crash outside the fire station.

The incident on the north side of the Holes Bay roundabout took place just before 5.15am.

The road was partially closed but reopened around 7.50am.

There are long delays throughout the area as a result. Traffic is backed up to the Bakers Arms roundabout, while a crash near Parley Cross is also causing gridlock.

Initially, a spokesperson for Dorset Police said there was no suggestion of any injuries.

But it was later confirmed that the driver of a Citroen van was taken to Poole Hospital with neck injuries.

His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

The vehicles, which included a Toyota Corolla and a Citroen panel van, were recovered from the road.

The local authority were also called to deal with an oil spillage.

Westbound traffic was diverted straight over the roundabout or south into Poole.

Eastbound traffic was sent along the A35 Upton Road to Fleetsbridge, and back on the westbound side.
