A PROJECT to revamp a Poole sheltered housing scheme for residents with special needs has been completed.

The £500,000 renovation of Belmont Court, Upper Parkstone, includes new foyers, a modernised lounge and dining room, rooftop solar panels and a sensory garden built by local volunteers.

Poole Mayor Ann Stribley is set to attend the official launch of the revamped building, a Poole Housing Partnership extra care scheme, on Thursday.

PHP’s Jon-Paul Elwart, who managed the refurbishment project, said: “It is amazing to see how Belmont Court has been transformed in just a few months.

“Residents have very much been at the centre of the project, from suggesting ideas for the interior design to picking up hoses to water the new garden.

“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has been involved, including a loyal group of volunteers, for their hard work and commitment during the works.”
