ROYAL photographer Millie Pilkington gave Julia's House families majestic treatment at a hospice photo shoot.

Millie, who lives in Dorset, is a well-known portrait and magazine snapper whose commissions have included taking private, behind-the-scenes, pictures at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding.

Taking photographs since she was 10, Millie who lives near Sherborne, has also taken portraits of the Earl and Countess of Wessex, and has been host photographer to the Queen during a visit to the Royal Academy of Arts and for her visit to Sherborne during her Diamond Jubilee tour.

The top snapper spent an afternoon photographing children and families at the Julia's House children's hospice in Corfe Mullen. Her photos will be used to support fundraising as well as providing families with a beautiful and lasting memento.

Louise McKenna, lead nurse at the hospice said: "The photographs are absolutely stunning. They really capture the spirit of Julia's House as a happy place where children come for care and play and where families can find support and comfort.

"We are so grateful to Millie for giving up her time for us. She was simply wonderful with the children and put everyone at ease. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere during the shoot."

Millie said: "It really was a very special day spent with incredible children, caring staff and strong parents. Julia’s House is an amazing charity, giving seriously sick children and their families a chance to find support, care, love and laughter."

Among many commissions, Millie's work has been showcased in County Life, Country Child Magazine and Dorset Life and in a coffee table book Great Faces of Dorset.
