The annual toe-tapping showcase of musical talent at Folk on the Quay festival takes place in Poole on June 27 and 28.

With three outdoor stages and more than 25 live music acts including international musicians and what is being deemed as the cream of the local folk scene, the event will offer a host of family fun across the two days.

Folk on the Quay has been organised by Paul and Catherine Burke with the development of Poole Tourism, it is being supported by a new title sponsor, Volvo Cars Poole, which is Dorset's only Volvo-approved sales, services and parts car dealership.

Bruce Grant-Braham, chairman of the Poole Tourism Partnership, said: "It is fantastic news that Poole Cars Volvo is now part of the Poole Tourism family.

"As sponsors of Folk on the Quay, their support allows us to invest and provide a varied and engaging programme of events that draws visitors to the town.

"With some of the best musicians in the country, a fabulous location and a laid back atmosphere that families really enjoy, it’s a must for locals and visitors alike."

As well as highlighting the talent of folk musicians, it aims to give a boost to businesses on Poole Quay with live music events at many of the nearby pubs, bars and cafes throughout the day and night.

Nigel Hayes, general manager of Volvo Cars Poole, which has launched a purpose-built showroom at Holes Bay, said: "The new Volvo Cars Poole management team is extremely proud to have recently opened our new showroom and the timing with Folk on the Quay is just perfect.

"In the last two years the event has really begun to establish itself as part of a vibrant folk music scene and the location, high quality environment, fantastic acts and spirit of adventure inherent in it are things which Volvo customers value.

"It’s an exciting time to be working with Poole Tourism and we are really proud to be part of the town’s special events programme."
