TWO tiny deaf and unwanted mischievous kittens in Poole are looking for a new home after they were handed over to an animal charity.

Paula Pelosi, who is a foster carer for Cats Protection, is currently taking care of the pure-bred Oriental white kittens, named Jonty and Jango, at her home in Oakdale while they wait for a kind owner to adopt them and bring them up in a safe environment.

She said: "They are both extremely affectionate, mischievous, clean, playful and chatty.

"They are 10 weeks old and have just had their inoculations and have been microchipped. Their mother was beautiful and they are identical to her with blue eyes.

"We have checked their health thoroughly, which is perfect but they both have hearing problems, which you often get in white cats, although they don't think that they have a problem.

"The kittens are very friendly and they would hate a home where the people go out at 8am in the morning and don't come back until 5pm in the afternoon as they love attention."

Paula said that they are 'super' little kittens who are very energetic and lively so they need a home which would suit them.

"I would suggest that they don't want a home with very young children because they are deaf. If they were sleeping on the floor, they wouldn't hear a child running along and could get trodden on. Ideally also the owner would have a closed garden, or a cat-proof garden, so that they couldn't get out into the road.

Paula added that the kittens come as a pair and must be homed together due to their hearing problems.

She said: "We are pretty certain that one has at least some hearing so one gets their cue from the other and they go around and play together.

"I'm sure that somebody will love them."

Anyone who thinks that they can offer the two kittens a home should contact Paula on 01202 469206.
