A SCHOOL community is mourning the death of a popular teacher, Carol Beverley.

The 43-year-old had taught science at Lytchett Minster School.

Staff, students and governors have paid tribute to Miss Beverley, who had taught at the 1,400 pupil school for 13 years.

She was known as an exceptionally dedicated, hardworking teacher with an excellent knowledge of her subject.

Miss Beverley taught A-level physics with great success at the school.

"Teaching was Carol's life, it was her passion," said headmaster Andrew Mead. "She was always the first to arrive at school and the last to leave.

"She adored working with young people and inspired many to continue their study of physics to A-level and beyond. Her commitment and dedication were exemplary. She will be sorely missed."

The school supported staff and students as they dealt with the loss of a respected teacher, colleague and friend.
