A CYCLIST sustained serious injuries after he fell from his bike following a near-miss collision in Poole. 

Police are urging the driver of a car to come forward following the incident, which happened on Blandford Road on Wednesday morning.

The cyclist, who had to take evasive action to avoid the vehicle, sustained a fractured arm, several cuts to his face and bruising to his body.

A spokesman from Dorset Police said: “Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious injury road traffic collision that occurred on Wednesday, April 8, at 7.43am on Blandford Road, Poole, at the Co-Op traffic-light-controlled junction.

“Police are especially keen to speak to the driver of a small silver four-door hatchback vehicle that was attempting to turn right into Hinchcliffe Road when its actions caused a pedal cyclist to be thrown from his bike and the rider sustained injuries.”
