AN ELDERLY pedestrian killed in a crash in Branksome died after suffering multiple injuries.

An inquest into the death of Paul Ambrose Carr was opened and adjourned at Bourne- mouth Coroners’ Court on Tuesday.

It was heard that Mr Carr, who lived in nearby Wilderton Road, suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash on Friday, February 6.

The 89-year-old was involved in a collision with a black Chrysler outside the Railway Hotel in Poole Road.

Coroner’s officer Andrew Lord said Dorset Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident.

A 27-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following the collision.

He has been released on bail until the beginning of April pending further enquiries.

A full inquest is set to take place in August this year.
