A CONSTRUCTION worker has been taken to hospital with serious leg injuries after he was trapped in a digger which fell on its side on Sandbanks Road.
An ambulance was called to the scene just before 1pm and treated the man for a leg fracture. The construction work is currently taking place near to the junction with Blakedene Road.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Officers were called to the scene at 12.45pm after reports that a mini digger was tipped on its side at a site on Sandbanks Road.
"A man in his early 60s has been taken to Poole Hospital with serious leg injuries and a health and safety executive has been informed."
