SEVEN local charities and good causes will benefit from more than £21,000 raised by a Poole-based group of hotels.

The huge amount of money has been collected by the FJB Group, which encompasses the Sandbanks Hotel, the Harbour Heights and the Haven Hotel in Poole as well as the Chine Hotel in Bournemouth.

A special ceremony was held at the Harbour Heights Hotel to congratulate staff and customers on their fantastic fundraising efforts for Wave 105’s Cash for Kids charity, who then distribute the money to good causes.

Initiatives to boost the offers included holding a series of themed events and offering guests the chance to add an optional £1 to their hotel bills to go to the cause.

Daniel Taylor, design and marketing manager for the FJB Group, said: “It was a pleasure for us to host this event for the chosen charities. We are thrilled to have raised these vital funds for Cash for Kids, and we couldn’t have done it without the support of our extremely generous hotel guests and visitors.”

Causes from Bournemouth and Poole set to benefit from the money were chosen jointly by the Cash for Kids team and staff from the FJB Group. These include Roundtable Wish Foundation, Montacute School, Asher Nadone’s disabled son, The Listening Ear, BCHA, Life Education Wessex and Autism Wessex.

Gloria Hill, Wave 105’s charity manager, said: “Our chosen charities were unaware they would be receiving funds from us and FJB, so they were totally overwhelmed with the announcement.”
