LONDON Marathon runners are being sought by a charity to help make the wishes of poorly children come true.

Round Table Children’s Wish is offering people the chance to get fit and raise money towards granting a wide variety of wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses. Wishes include family holidays, trips to theme parks, and a chance to meet a favourite celebrity, or own a special toy.

Samantha Read, a fundraising officer for Round Table Children’s Wish, said: “We only have until February 6 to register and get people on the marathon system before it closes, so we need to hear from prospective runners as soon as possible.

“The London Marathon is a fabulous fundraising event for charities like us and an amazing event to be part of for the runners. We are hoping people will rise to the challenge and in doing so help grant the wishes of many poorly children in 2015. But they need to be quick!”

Runners need to pay £150 to register and to raise at least a further £1100 in sponsorship.

There are 20 places available and the marathon takes place on Sunday, April 26, 2015.
