RESIDENTS and businesses in Dorset are being consulted on what type of festival they would like to run alongside European Maritime Day which is being hosted at Poole in 2017.
This is the largest maritime event in Europe, held every year in a different city. In two years’ time in May around 1,000 delegates will attend a two-day conference at Lighthouse.
There will also be a festival to celebrate Dorset’s maritime heritage and showcase present and future innovations. Dorset Coast Forum is seeking suggestions and ideas which could involve shipping, arts, culture, education, sport, health, food and drink.
Two workshops are being held for representatives from organisations and businesses at Poole on February 10 and 11.
