A MOTORCYCLIST suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash with a car on the A35 this morning.
The incident took place between the Bakers Arms roundabout and the Organford junction, next to the Axium Centre.
The was closed to allow collision investigators to examine the scene.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said they were called to the incident at 10.52am.
The motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries to his chest, leg and arm and was taken to Poole Hospital.
The driver of the car, a silver BMW, suffered a suspected fractured leg and was also taken to Poole Hospital.
Both the BMW and motorcycle were visibly damaged in the collision with debris from the vehicles scattered across the road.
Next of kin have been informed.
Dorset Police said the re-opened around 4.40pm.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to the collision, or anyone who may have seen either vehicle prior to the crash, to call them on 101 quoting incident number 22:120.
