Police attended a crash involving a car and a lorry along Canford Cliffs Road this morning.

A call was made to the emergency services just before 11.30am with reports of the incident close to the junction with Haig Road.

It involved a blue Renault Clio registered to a man from Poole and a white Veco Box van.

Fire fighters from Dorset Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene, as it was initially thought that somebody may be trapped in the Renault Clio.

However, on arrival, they discovered two elderly people in the car, who were able to escape uninjured and no people were taken to hospital.

The main road connecting Canford Cliffs and Penn Hill Avenue was fully re-opened just after 12.50pm.
