BEACH replenishment works in Poole have moved from Shore Road towards Canford Cliffs as thousands more of cubic meters of sand are pumped ashore.

The big pipe was moved on Thursday and is now at work adding sand to the beach Canford Cliffs, protecting yet more homes and infrastructure from coastal erosion following the decimation of last winter’s storms.

The storm repairs, funded with £750,000 from Defra, saw 40,000 cubic metres of recycled sand pumped on the beach. They were due to finish at the end of November, but the scheme has been extended until Christmas – moving towards the Bournemouth boarder – thanks to £1.2million of additional government funding.
