Officials behind a new academy set to open in Poole next year have announced the appointment of its principal.
Ellen Humphries will take the lead of Ocean Academy Poole when it opens.
Mrs Humphries is currently the head of Courthill Infant School, but will move to her new post next April. She said: “I am really looking forward to this exciting new venture to build the academy from the ground up.
“Parent partnership is a key part of my role and I look forward to meeting Ocean families in the coming months.”
The new academy will open in brand new, purpose-built accommodation on Constitution Hill Road in September 2015, initially offering 90 places to year three pupils, and will be run by the Aspirations Academies Trust, already responsible for Magna Academy in Poole and Jewell Academy in Bournemouth.
Steve Kenning, chief executive of the trust, said: “Ellen has a tremendous amount of valuable and successful experience in a range of infant and primary schools.”
Any families interested in the new academy will have a chance to meet Mrs Humphries on December 1 at 6pm at Magna Academy.
