FOLLOWING a three-month trial a charity superstore in Poole is to continue its successful Sunday opening.

Julia’s House children’s hospice’s flagship shop at the Neighbourhood Centre in Creekmoor, has proved a great success, attracting a big footfall all week round, particularly on Saturdays, and is appealing for more volunteers.

The biggest Julia’s House shop in the county, it acts as a showroom for larger items of furniture that are donated, such as beds, sofas and tables.

It has recently undergone a refit using units donated by John Lewis, allowing even more stock to go on display.

Retail manager Brie Logan said: “We are so grateful for all the support we’ve had. People love the layout at Creekmoor. We have the space to set out furniture in room-style displays so shoppers can really get a feel for how pieces will look in their own homes.

“It is like an Aladdin’s cave. “There are some real bargains to be had too.”

Creekmoor is constantly in need of donations of furniture – and time.

“Volunteers are essential to the success of Creekmoor,” said Brie.

“We are always looking for more helping hands at the weekend, to sort and price items in the warehouse and to serve customers. If anyone has a little time to spare we would love to hear from them.”

The Creekmoor superstore is open seven days a week from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sundays, with free parking.

Donations can be left at the store or there is a collection service for larger items of furniture.
