THE search is on to find this year’s Poole Carnival Court, who will represent the town at the carnival and throughout the whole year.

Girls aged between 12 and 20 can now apply to be the Carnival Queen or one of her two attendants to take part in the Poole Carnival Procession next May, as well as supporting its charity work and representing the town at other carnivals and events throughout the year.

Entrants must live in the borough and be aged between 12 and 16 for the attendants and 16 and 20 for the Carnival Queen.

The court will be chosen by a judging panel, including Poole mayor Cllr Peter Adams, at a gala evening hosted by Lucy Redknapp, who is married to Harry Redknapp’s son Mark.

The event is on Saturday, October 18 at the Quay Thistle Hotel, Poole. Entry for contestants is free, if a completed application form is received in advance.

Poole Carnival Gala evening is the first big fundraising event for the 2015 carnival and includes a buffet, entertainment from Swing Unlimited and G J Cabarets, and an auction and raffle – for which donations are being request-ed. Tickets are £15.
