TWO sisters have had their long hair chopped into short bobs to help children with cancer and hair loss.

Eight-year-old Holly Humes decided to have her hair cut for the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for children. And when her big sister Lily, 10, needed a hair cut too she decided to join in.

The pair sat alongside each other at The Barbers Lounge, Broadstone, right, on Friday as their new looks took shape.

The shorn hair was kept in two freezer bags by proud mum Clare – ready to be sent off to the charity.

She told the Echo: “I think there is more than 60cm of hair between them. I’m really proud of both of them.

“I think they both like their new cuts. Holly was quite excited and her friends can’t wait to see it. The family were all asking for photos on Facebook to see what they looked like.”

Holly has already beaten her £350 fundraising target with £400 pledged already.

But the girls are hoping to raise more through their sponsorship pages at justgiving.com/clare-humes The Little Princess Trust, which makes real hair wigs for boys and girls across the country who have lost their hair through cancer treatment or illness, was supported by singer Jessie J who donated her hair when she shaved her head.
