GAS has been restored to around 400 of the 608 Canford Heath properties whose supplies were cut off on Monday, after a water main burst.
Southern Gas Networks, said they are hopeful that everyone's supplies around the Culliford Crescent area of the Poole estate will be restored before the weekend.
Engineers are visiting every property that has been affected to carry out a safety check as they reconnect the supply. They are asking residents who were out when they called and left a card, to contact them on 0800 912 1717.
The supplier says it is important people check the identity of anyone calling at their home and all their engineers carry a laminated ID card bearing the name Southern Gas Networks.
“We would like to thank residents for their continued patience and understanding,” said a spokesman.
