MONEY raised to help a Poole baby who is sick up to 20 times a day will make a “phenomenal” difference, according to his parents.

Bobby Griffin, who lives with parents Jamie and Leanne in Oakdale, was born 18 months ago and suffers with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, which causes the severe vomiting and means he has to be fed through a tube.

He has also been diagnosed with Chromosome 14q Deletion Syndrome, which affects just 12 children in the UK and is expected to result in him enduring learning and physical disabilities as he gets older.

Martin Osborn, who works for David Phipp House Furnisher in Ferndown, heard about Bobby’s plight via his wife Jane and organised a raffle.

The furniture business teamed up with bedding producer Tempur to donate a £2,000 mattress for the raffle, with the draw being made by customer and AFC Bournemouth player Eunan O’Kane at the end of August.

In total, £2,075 was raised for the tot.

Bobby’s dad, Jamie, said: “The money will make a phenomenal difference to Bobby’s quality of life.

“We will be using the money to make adaptations around the home, including stair lifts, ramps and a special chair. Bobby’s head is quite floppy and at the moment he spends a lot of the day on his back looking at the ceiling.

“With the chair he will be able to sit with us at the dinner table and interact with us as a family.”

Raffle organiser Martin said he was delighted to hear the money was being put to such good use.

He added: “It is nice that in this day and age local businesses are able to help like this.”
