A WOMAN whose body was found in a burning car has been named as Jennifer Mitchell from Shaftesbury.
Fire fighters discovered the 19-year-old’s body while extinguishing a burning car in Hargrove, near Stalbridge Common, at about 9am last Tuesday (9).
An inquest into Miss Mitchell’s death was opened and adjourned at Dorset County Court in Dorchester, pending further investigations.
Police investigators said last week that they thought Miss Mitchell’s death was the result of a tragic accident.
David Booth, the head teacher of The Shaftesbury School, said his thoughts were with his former pupil's family.
"We remember Jennie as a very cheerful, conscientious student who contributed a great deal to the life of the school," said Mr Booth.
