A MOTORCYCLIST punched the window of a car and shouted abuse at its driver during an incident in north Dorset last week.

The offender was among a group of bikers riding from Sherborne towards Dorchester at 6.30pm on Thursday, April 19. Members of the group overtook a vehicle travelling in the same direction, but the offender was unable to complete the manoeuvre because of the narrow roads in the area.

Around three miles south of Sherborne, on the A352 at Longburton, the car driver stopped at a set of a traffic lights.

The biker then pulled up alongside and began hurling abuse at the driver, before punching the side window of the car.

The window shattered and the car's paintwork was scratched.

Police are calling for anyone with information about the identity of the biker to come forward.
