A 10-TONNE JCB was stolen from a farm near Sherborne at the weekend.
Police are calling for anyone with CCTV to review their footage after the theft, which took place sometime between 6.30pm on Sunday, October 29 and 8am the following day.
The machine, a JCB 536-60 telehandler with the registration HF08OYK and a Strimech bucket attached, was taken from land near Sandford Orcas.
It was taken without the keys.
Officers investigating say the vehicle has a scrape to the bonnet and a cracked number plate guard. It was fitted with an LED spotlight.
A spokesperson from the Dorset Police Rural Crime Team has urged anyone with information to contact the force on 101 quoting occurrence number 55170169282.
