EMERGENCY services were called to a crash between a lorry and a Nissan Micra on the A31.

The incident took place just before 10.57am on Tuesday, near to the Winterborne Kingston turn-off.

Three fire crews from Poole, Wareham and Blandford were sent to the scene and found three casualties.

Two had already been removed from the vehicle by ambulance, but one was still in the car.

Crews removed the roof of the car using hydraulic cutting equipment and removed the casualty.

A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service said there were three female casualties who were taken to Dorset County Hospital.

The road was closed in both directions by police.

Recovery was requested by officers, and the road was reopened at 12.28pm.
