AN ECLECTIC new live music and arts festival, Heftival, gets underway in north Dorset next month.

The event is dedicated to the celebration of upcoming live and electronic music and visual art from all over the country and will showcase artists from Blandford to Bournemouth and from as far as London to Leeds.

The inaugural two-day event at Shillingstone near Blandford takes place on Friday, September 8 and Saturday, September 9.

Organisers say it is suitable for all ages, with guests camping available during the two nights on the festival site.

Sam Heffer, one of the organisers said: “Visitors will also be able to enjoy the finest festival foods in the area, admiring outstanding visual art, set in the picturesque Dorset countryside sound-tracked by some of the most impressive upcoming artists on the UK scene right now.”

Music is from 7pm to midnight on Friday and 12pm to 1am on Saturday. The line-up includes Nørd, Dubheart, Necktr, Yves, Muffin, Lorenza, Tinman, Tara Flanagan, Harry Illsley, Harry Sense, DJ Liv Ayers, DJ Tomsy and Angus Owen.
