A 13-YEAR-OLD boy has sustained a serious head injury following a crash in Gillingham.
The collision took place around 4pm yesterday, Friday, in Wyke Road and involved a pedestrian and a red Citroen C2.
The pedestrian – a 13-year-old local boy – sustained a serious head injury and was taken to Southampton General Hospital by air ambulance with life-threatening injuries.
But his condition is now no longer life-threatening.
The driver of the Citroen – a 17-year-old local man – was uninjured.
The road was closed to allow emergency services to deal with the incident and for collision investigators to examine the scene.
Police are appealing for witnesses to get in touch.
