A 37-year-old motorcyclist has died following a collision involving a tractor.
Police were called to the A357 at Stalbridge around 3.20pm yesterday to reports of a collision between a Suzuki motorcycle and a tractor registered to a Stalbridge company.
According to a Dorset Police spokesman the rider of the motorcycle, a 37-year-old Blandford man, sadly died at the scene from his injuries.
His next of kin have been informed and the coroner notified. No one else was injured.
The road wasy closed at Barrow Hill junction with Wood Lane and Thornhill Road junction with Grosvenor Road while collision investigators examined the scene.
Two air ambulances were called to the scene of the crash, however neither were used.
A double-crewed ambulance, rapid response car and operations officer were sent to the scene.
The spokesperson from the ambulance service said a local defibrillator was also involved. Police are calling for anyone with information about the collision to come forward.
