A TEENAGE girl was rescued after becoming stuck knee-deep in mud at Barton on Sea.
The 14-year-old was walking across mud flats near Naish Holiday Park when she became stuck on Saturday.
At around 5.30pm, firefighters and volunteers from two coastguard rescue teams in Lymington and Southbourne were called to rescue the girl, who was trapped for around two hours in total.

A spokesperson for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency said: “We got a call from the fire service asking for assistance with a 14-year-old girl who was stuck in mud.
“The sea wasn’t close to her but she was stuck up to her knees in mud.
“Lymington and Southbourne assisted the fire service with extracting the girl from the mud.
“She was taken to hospital by paramedics but was safe and well,” the spokesperson added.
A Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said a water rescue team from Fareham and crews from New Milton and Redbridge fire stations attended the incident.
