HEAVY and persistent rain is set to sweep in during the Easter weekend, the Met Office has warned.

A yellow weather warning – meaning be aware – has been issued for Bournemouth, Poole and the rest of the county.

The warning is valid from 6pm on Easter Sunday until 12pm on bank holiday Monday.

Between 15 to 25mm of rain is likely to fall widely, which as much as 40 to 50mm expected to fall in some places.

The Met Office says there is a “small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.”

It also warns there could be a chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services.
