A MUSEUM will open on Sundays for the first time following a multi-million-pound facelift.
The award-winning St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery in Lymington is due to reopen on July 29.
There will be improved facilities and longer weekend opening hours.
Volunteers are being urged to come forward to help staff the museum, which will now be open on Sundays between 11am and 4pm.
Museum director, Mark Tomlinson, said: “This is such an exciting time to join St Barbe as a volunteer as we re-launch with a restored building and enhanced services.
“Our volunteers are our greatest asset, providing a warm welcome and sharing their local knowledge with the public.
“We would welcome new faces to join this greatly valued team.”
The new-look museum will boast a new cafe, an activity room and a public archive area.
The scheme has been funded by £1.78 million from the National Lottery and £150,000 from Arts Council England, plus £545,000 from other sources.
