MORE than 30 firefighters tackled a gorse fire in the New Forest.
The blaze engulfed 20 hectares of land at the area known as Burley Rocks.
Drifting smoke from the fire was so thick that at one stage officers had to slow traffic on the nearby A35.
Fire crews from Ringwood, New Milton, Christchurch, Verwood and Eastleigh attended the scene.
