VISITORS to the New Forest can look at previously-unseen library and museum collections during a special event on Sunday, May 29.

Held in celebration of Discover Your National Park Day, the family-fun event runs from 10am to 4pm, which will allow people to go behind-the-scenes and have a look around The Christopher Tower Reference Library. Volunteers and a collection technician will be on hand to answer visitors' questions and people can also learn about the National Park in the free museum.

Claire Sherwood, recreation management and learning ranger for the New Forest National Park Authority, said: "This is a great day for everyone to come along to. It offers a taster of what the New Forest has to offer and gives people an insight into the forest’s ancient traditions and unique way of life."

Other activities include the chance for children to make their own hobby horse, a real New Forest pony at Queen's House and a Lyndhurst-themed quiz taking participants up Lyndhurst High Street to Queen's House and the Verderers’ Court.
