A 41-YEAR-OLD father-of-two has appeared in court charged with four offences of sexual activity with a child.

Scott Taylor of Edmondsham, Wimborne, is alleged to have committed the offences against one female victim when she was aged 14 and 15.

A jury of nine women and three men at Bournemouth Crown Court was told the schoolgirl, who is not related to Taylor, reported the offences a number of years after they are alleged to have taken place.

The court heard it "took her a long time to move away from feeling the need to protect him" and to realise that what Taylor had been doing was wrong.

Prosecuting, Jodie Mittell told the court that Taylor made inappropriate comments to the girl and gave her cigarettes, alcohol and drugs, including Ecstasy.

She said the alleged victim believes he "played on her vulnerabilities" and said she felt "disgusting" after the offences took place.

The offences are said to have taken place at Taylor's home address - not his current address - and in a vehicle at a festival when another girl was present.

Jurors watched a DVD of the girl's police interview and she was due to give live evidence from behind a screen.

Taylor denies four charges of sexual activity with a child, namely a girl under the age of 16.

The trial, expected to last for around four days, continues.
