ANOTHER Bournemouth couple have told how their wedding reception was also cancelled following the sudden closure of the Milton Barns Hotel in New Milton, just three days before their big day.

The devastated couple who don't want to be identified, came forward after reading about the plight of bride and groom to be, Michael Erskine and Yvette Erdtsieck, who have been left in the lurch and out of pocket.

"We only had a few days before our wedding to find another venue which was really stressful and we are now £3,000 out of pocket," the wife of the unnamed couple told the Echo.

"We had booked afternoon tea for 50 people followed by a hog roast for around 80 guests in the evening.

"Some of our wedding guests who were travelling from as far as Wales and Cambridge were due to be staying at the hotel."

The newlyweds who tied the knot at a Bournemouth Catholic church, have now returned from their honeymoon to sort out the chaos.

She added; "I feel exhausted trying to sort it all out - it's certainly not the best start to married life."

Although a note had been posted on the hotel door to say that the couple running the hotel had been deported to Canada, she said she didn't believe that to be the case.

"We were told in December last year that they might have to return to Canada to sort out some issues at some stage but that it wouldn't affect business.

"Now we've been told it was because of financial problems and we were sent a copy of a legal document to say that they had applied for the company to be struck off."

Meanwhile Michael, 40 and Yvette, 29, who live in Sedgley Road in Winton, are now desperately searching for an alternative venue ahead of their wedding in four weeks' time.
