"We are assessing and treating a female in her 40s who was taken by air ambulance to Bournemouth Hospital with a suspected hand injury."

Resident Clive Lachlan said: "It was around 11.45am and I saw an air ambulance on the green oppostite my house. I saw a lady sat upright on a stretcher outside the air ambulance and all I could see was that her hand was bandaged up.

He said: "It seemed strange that somebody who could walk would require an air ambulance."
