AN ELDERLY pedestrian involved in a fatal collision with a car last week has been named.
Charles Putz, 86, was crossing Caird Avenue, New Milton, on Friday, January 30 at 5.40pm when he was involved in a collision with a silver Peugeot 306.
Mr Putz, who lived in Ashlet Gardens, was taken to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Sgt Andy Gower said officers will be back at the scene on Friday to hand out leaflets in the hope of jogging someone's memory.
He added: “The collision occurred on Caird Avenue near the junction with Inglewood Drive, so it may be that if you were around that the area or Ashley Road or the Tesco roundabout at the time.
“Did you witness the collision or see either the silver Peugeot 306 or Mr Putz prior to it?”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Totton Roads Policing unit, quoting Operation Report, on 101.
