A car ploughed into the front of a shop in Lyndhurst last night.

The blue Vauxhall Astra drove straight into the front window of the Paws in the Forest toy shop in Lyndhurst.

The car was left embedded in the front of the shop, which specialises in selling teddy bears, in the High Street.

Firefighters from Lyndhurst, Totton and Brockenhurst fire stations rushed to the scene to make the building safe.

A total of 17 firefighters attended the scene along with a structural engineer.

It is unclear if anyone was injured in the drama which happened at 10.39pm last night.

The shop is run by Maggie and John Parma.

One man who was immediately at the scene last night was Andy Tipp,49, from Lyndhurst.

  He said:"I was in the Fox and Hound pub drinking and I heard a bang and saw it. I have no idea how the driver managed to do it."
